The GCS Ordering Timeline
We are often approached by clients who have never purchased a modular or portable building before. We understand it can be pretty daunting, especially if you’ve been tasked to organise the full project.
To help you, we have created our Customer Journey which is a timeline from initial enquiry to the installation of your new building. We hope it helps provide some insight into the process.
First contact
Whether your initial enquiry is by phone, email, website or any other way, we always aim to get back to you with our first response within 48 hours. You will be allocated to a team member who will contact you to find out more about your project & requirements.
Gather information
We will contact you by your preferred method and find out what your requirements are. We will ask such questions as:- location; budget; the size of the building; use of the building; design & specification; how much or little groundwork is required; is it a building supply only or a full turnkey package?
The budget for the project enables us to advise what type of building would be best for you.
Quotation
From the information gathered above we will supply a quotation along with specifications & images for you to understand and relate to it.
Design
Once the budget and specification have been agreed upon, we will provide CAD-designed technical drawings. This not only allows you to see to-scale images but also sets the specifications for utilities and the groundwork required to install them.
Project management
From start to finish a member of our team will be allocated to your project. They will be your point of contact and be responsible for arranging the building design and agreeing on specifications including logistics and groundworks. Don’t worry, they will explain every step to make sure you are fully aware of the process.
Delivery & Installation
Your project manager will discuss the delivery and installation process with you and arrange a suitable time. Bear in mind, as some installations involve cranes, the weather is an important factor too. High winds will halt deliveries. We try to factor this in should the installation be required for a set date.
Groundworks and finishing touches
If you have opted for GCS to arrange the post-installation groundwork, our team will be on-site finalising these as well as any other finishing touches. Your project manager will be on hand to answer any questions.
Building Handover
If you are taking delivery of a portable cabin, on-site will be the HIAB lorry and operator who will be responsible for offloading the building and ensuring the building is level. If you have chosen to go with our modular option, once the building has been fully installed and the site team have finished, your project manager will meet you and run through the functionality of the building ensuring you are happy with the GCS quality and high standard which we work to. You are now ready to enjoy your new space, what GCS Cabins provide is more than just a building!
