Amrod UK Limited offer a reliable, bespoke logistics service and specialises in providing a guaranteed, same-day service for companies in sectors where on-time delivery is not just important but critical. This includes the medical, optical and pharmaceutical sectors, where medical equipment, medication and samples can be urgently transported to the site. The legal sector is another regular client, using Amrod for time-sensitive transportation of legal documents, court papers and tender documents. Engineers and manufacturing businesses also value reliable service for urgent delivery of parts to on-site engineers along with other high-priority manufactured items. Andy Oldfield of Amrod UK Limited first contacted GCS in November 2021. Amrod was looking to move into larger premises and was in the process of locating a suitable warehouse unit big enough to cope with the business’s growth. Andy realised that they would need office accommodation to house the admin activity and needed to identify the price of a suitable cabin to evaluate the total project cost.

GCS was able to give Andy an indication of cost and discuss precisely what was needed internally to make the unit absolutely fit for purpose. They also explained how the process worked and the wide range of options available both internally and externally. The search for a suitable unit took longer than planned, but to the delight of Andy and his colleagues, the building was eventually delivered early in 2024.

The major challenge with this project was getting the unit through the building’s door. However, our highly experienced logistics team has overcome bigger challenges than the one presented here and, with a little initiative and a lot of know-how, was able to overcome the constraints placed on them.

The only other issue was providing a unit that offered all of the facilities that Andy required within the budget allocated to the project. The delayed completion of the actual industrial unit also introduced complications. However, regular communication between all parties ensured that the building was delivered on time and on budget.

GCS worked with Andy to ensure he got the building he wanted with all the facilities he required, including all the office furniture, all at an on-budget price. We also provided the understanding required during the delays that occurred waiting for the building to be completed and finally were able to make sure the installation ran smoothly and possessed the experience to squeeze a substantial building through a very tight entrance.

Andy and his team now have a brand new office space, perfect for their needs, providing them with a bright professional environment to embark on the next stage of the Company’s future. The building was built off-site, removing any potential impact on the day-to-day operation of the business. Of course, it can be portable and re-sited should Andy need even bigger premises!
