Client Details
For over 35 years, Marks Electrical have been selling the best of appliances and televisions to over a million satisfied customers. Since 1987, they’ve provided high-quality products at competitive prices and they remain today as an independent elite retailer. They pride themselves on their achievements and the accolades they’ve been honoured to accept, including Best Website at the IER Awards. Â They make the job of retailing appliances easy, however, in reality everything needs to work like a finely tuned engine to make it consistently successful: The trick is they always make the customer Number 1. This is achieved by investment in a technology driven operating model, a proven distribution network, a scalable, vertically integrated delivery model and an understanding of ever-changing market demand and trends. It’s something others find hard to replicate.
Overview
Overview
Ben Martin, Marks Electrical Operations Director made contact with GCS for guidance on the siting of additional space within the transport hub at the Leicester Headquarters. We were able to establish that a double stack jack-leg arrangement with an outside covered staircase should fit their requirements and we arranged to carry out a site visit to confirm suitability, check access was not a problem and suggest the siting of the cabins.
Key Issues
Key Issues
The siting of the cabins was the first question given that it was important to have a good view of all the activity in the transport hub, the elevation of the stacked cabin along with floor to ceiling windows gave all the visibility needed. The next challenge was the requirement to match the external cladding to the corporate colours in the outward appearance of the building. Finally, a covered compliant staircase was needed to meet health and safety regulations.
What GCS Did
What GCS Did
Carried out a site visit to fully understand client requirements and suitability of buildings for purpose. Matched corporate colours precisely through RAL coding which ensured a perfect match to corporate colours and aesthetically perfect. Provided costs to ensure that all health and safety requirements were met particularly with regard to the to the covered staircase and landing.
