Overview

Overview

Sateba have had great success over recent years and been awarded a significant number of new projects which has required an increase in their workforce and the inevitable demand for office space and welfare facilities.

Key Issues

Key Issues

Whilst the individual units were uncomplicated and conventional jack-leg units the timing of delivery was a key factor and Sateba needed to find a reliable supplier who understood the flexibility required over the two phase nature of the project and happy to work accordingly, Clearly the supplier also needed to have a reputation for delivering major projects on time and as promised. The installation required the relocating of several members of staff and needed coordinating carefully to avoid major disruption. Groundworks were all handled by Sateba with foundation pads, drainage, water feed, electrics and data facilities all in place ready for the new cabins.

What GCS Did

What GCS Did

GCS recognised the importance of close contact with Sateba to provide the peace of mind required on a time sensitive project. A dedicated project manager was appointed to manage the process and a single contact source for Sateba, avoiding the problems associated with multiple contacts and a “pillar to post” environment. It was agreed that a two phase approach was the best way to provide the required flexibility with four units delivered and installed in Phase One to allow the movement of some of the staff followed by the balance of the units completing the 10 unit central block along with a further 3 units across the site. The first phase of the project posed a few access issues but along with transport and the site team we quickly overcame them and completed on time. Phase 2 was again time critical but forward planning ensured all went well with all units in place, on time and good to go. The staff were able to relocate without disruption and no impact to the everyday running of their projects.

Summary

Summary

Sateba now have a brand new, fully operational office & welfare block designed exactly to specification and absolutely fit for purpose, all units were delivered on time despite the challenges. The jack-leg nature of the cabins offers enormous flexibility should further demand for space occur given the ease with which they can be relocated or added to, either by extending or with the addition of a second storey. Further units have indeed been already been added to the 68 acre site with the same care and precision to guarantee a disruption free experience.

Our contact at Sateba was kind enough to comment on his experience and said our “Communication and response stood out and that he would have no hesitation in recommending GCS” He added that we were “considerate and helpful and couldn’t have done anything better”
